Farwalk’s Type W Portable Power Cables are the rugged, high-capacity workhorses of the mining and industrial sectors. Engineered for ‘Extra Hard Usage,’ these cables utilize ultra-flexible tinned copper and vulcanized CPE rubber to deliver relentless 2000V power in the most abusive environments. Whether powering massive pumps or mobile mining equipment, Type W provides the ultimate balance of mechanical toughness and electrical reliability.
Manufactured in accordance with ICEA S-75-381 / NEMA WC 58 and UL 1650. The core features Class 5 or Class 6 fine-stranded tinned copper for maximum torsional flexibility. It is insulated with heavy-duty Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) and encased in a reinforced, double-pass vulcanized Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) jacket.
The primary choice for temporary or permanent power delivery to mining equipment, heavy-duty mobile machinery, and massive borehole pumps. Ideally suited for environments requiring a cable that can be continuously reeled and dragged across jagged surfaces without insulation failure.
• Voltage Rating: 2000V (2kV) AC/DC
• Configuration: 1 to 5 Conductors (No Grounding wires)
• Insulation: 90°C EPR (Extra Heavy Duty)
• Outer Jacket: Reinforced CPE (Abrasion, Oil, Flame, and UV Resistant)
• Compliance: MSHA, ICEA, UL Listed
• Temp. Range: -40°C to +90°C
1. Conductor: Ultra-flexible Class 5 or Class 6 fine-stranded tinned annealed copper.
2. Insulation: Heavy-duty Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR), color-coded for identification.
3. Reinforcement: Open polyester braid or high-tensile binder for increased pull-strength.
4. Outer Jacket: Heavy-duty, reinforced Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) or Neoprene compound.
5. Design: Available in single-core or multi-core (up to 5 conductors) configurations.
• Extra Hard Usage Rated: Engineered to withstand extreme mechanical abuse, including constant dragging, twisting, and crushing by light-to-medium mine equipment.
• Superior Cold-Flex: The EPR/CPE vulcanized system remains highly flexible even in arctic temperatures (-40°C), preventing jacket cracking during outdoor reel-out.
• Total Immunity: Specifically compounded to resist degradation from ozone, sunlight, industrial oils, and acid-mine-water, ensuring long-term dielectric stability.
• MSHA Certified Readiness: Our Type W cables meet the absolute flame-retardancy and durability requirements for global mining and industrial safety codes.
• Continuous Vulcanization Mastery: Utilizing high-pressure CV lines ensures the jacket and insulation are perfectly bonded, preventing ‘sleeving’ or internal core-shifting.
• site-Tested Resilience: Proven in harsh open-pit and underground mining logistics, Farwalk provides zero-failure reliability for mission-critical mobile power links.
