THHN / THWN-2 Building Wire (Copper, 600V, UL 83 Standard)

THHN / THWN-2 Building Wire (Copper, 600V, UL 83 Standard)

Farwalk’s THHN / THWN-2 wires are the industry standard for high-reliability general-purpose wiring. Specifically engineered with a friction-resistant Nylon jacket, these wires ensure smooth, easy pulling through conduits while offering exceptional resistance to heat, moisture, and gasoline-oil environments.

Manufactured in strict accordance with UL 83 and the National Electrical Code (NEC). It features a high-purity stranded or solid annealed copper conductor, insulated with heat and moisture-resistant Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), and protected by a tough, clear Polyamide (Nylon) outer jacket. Rated for 600 volts and 90°C in both dry and wet locations.

The primary choice for electrical services, feeders, and branch circuits in commercial and industrial applications. Universally used in conduit and cable trays for new construction and modernization projects. THWN-2 rating makes it mandatory for installations requiring high performance in wet locations.

• Voltage Rating: 600V
• Conductor: Bare Copper (Solid or Stranded)
• Insulation: PVC (Heat & Moisture Resistant)
• Jacket: Nylon (Tough & Abrasion Resistant)
• Temp. Rating: 90°C Dry/Wet
• Standard: UL 83, UL 1063 (MTW)

1. Conductor: Annealed uncoated copper, Class B (stranded) or Class C (highly stranded) per ASTM/UL 83.
2. Insulation: Heat and moisture resistant Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC).
3. Jacket: Tough, friction-minimizing clear Nylon (Polyamide) cover.
4. Identification: Surface printed with size, type, voltage, and UL listing marks.

• High Thermal Rating: Rated for 90°C in both dry and wet locations, providing superior reliability under heavy electrical loads.
• Easy Pulling: The friction-resistant Nylon jacket significantly reduces the pulling force required during installation through conduits, saving labor time.
• Chemical Resilience: The Nylon skin provides a protective barrier against gasoline, oil, and harsh industrial solvents, essential for gas station and industrial wiring.

• UL 83 Standard Precision: Our THHN/THWN-2 wires are manufactured with laser-monitored insulation thickness to ensure they fit perfectly in standard EMT and rigid conduits.
• Superior Nylon Bonding: We utilize a high-pressure co-extrusion process that prevents the Nylon jacket from peeling or ‘wrinkling’ during tight-radius bends.
• Full Color Spectrum: Stocked in all standard NEC colors (Black, White, Red, Blue, Green, etc.) for immediate phase identification on-site.
